Careers advice helped Freya make more informed decisions about her future.
Freya from Gwynedd was unsure what to do after school. She had ideas but did not know how to connect her interests with career options.

Freya attended individual meetings with her school’s careers adviser, Guto. They looked together at what her options were.
She said: "Before these meetings, I had no idea about the difference between A levels, sixth form and other options. Having someone to talk to really helped. "I was always in between options, but I was not sure what the difference were. Talking to Guto helped me understand the qualifications I needed. He helped me explore what kind of jobs I could get from these.”
Making decisions
Through talks with Guto, Freya learned about options including apprenticeships and local colleges. Freya said: "I initially wanted to study psychology or something in fashion or dance. After learning more, I decided to pursue A levels in Media, Law, and English.
“I felt this would give me more flexibility with finding job opportunities in the future.” Guto provided Freya with resources and helped her arrange interviews with colleges. It made the process less overwhelming.
Looking ahead
Freya now feels more confident about her future. She is considering both university and apprenticeships as possible options after college.
She admitted: “I feel like I have got a clearer mindset of what I can achieve. “Talking to someone who knows more about these things is really helpful. It’s good to explore different opportunities so that you can choose something else if you do not reach specific grades."
