Communities for Work Plus

What is Communities for Work Plus?

Communities for Work Plus provides specialist employment advisory support and intensive mentoring for people with the legal right to live and work in the UK. You must be aged 20 years old or over, living in Wales and not in education, employment, or training, and have a complex barrier to employment.

Communities for Work Plus can provide support to help to build your confidence, gain some work experience, learn new skills or re-write your CV. Communities for Work Plus will help you as an individual and will meet with you in your local community.

What are the benefits of Communities for Work Plus?

Communities for Work Plus is a voluntary programme, offering help, support, guidance and training in relation to finding employment, through 1-2-1 advice from a team of dedicated mentors.

How does it work?

You will have your own mentor who will meet you at a convenient venue, local to you. They will find out what help you need when they meet with you and will agree next steps. There is no obligation to join Communities for Work Plus, it’s entirely up to you and you can decide whether Communities for Work Plus is for you following your meeting with your mentor. If you decide to join Communities for Work Plus, your mentor will arrange to meet or contact you on a regular basis to ensure you are getting all the help you need to enable you to start work.
