After more than 30 years working in Interior Design practice and education, Craig felt ready for a new challenge.
With a PhD, award-winning projects, and thousands of students mentored, he wanted to channel his experience into something fresh and impactful.
In early 2025, Craig took voluntary redundancy from his long-standing role to pursue a personal ambition of launching his own business and helping new designers get started.
A flexible future
In April 2025, Craig founded Interior Design Evolution Ltd, an online learning platform designed to support aspiring Interior Designers. The platform offers a flexible 90-day course tailored to each learner’s schedule and experience level.
Through online lessons and personal mentoring, Craig helps participants build confidence, refine their ideas, and take their designs from concept to completion.
Embracing technology
As he developed the business, Craig wanted to explore how technology could enhance the learning experience. That’s when he connected with Working Wales and met Catrin.
“Catrin was brilliant,” Craig says. “She really understood my goals and helped me secure ReAct+ funding from the Welsh Government. She found the perfect Artificial Intelligence training to help me take my skills to the next level.”
The training enabled Craig to integrate artificial intelligence into his platform, creating ‘Dr Craig’, a virtual AI mentor that supports learners through each stage of the course. “It gives learners incredible value, giving them access to a personalised expert 24/7,” Craig explains. “It helps them improve their skills, complete their projects, and develop their creative voice. It’s really exciting, we have received very positive feedback from the students so far.”
Support that makes a difference
“Working Wales gave me the right support at the right time,” Craig says. “The ReAct+ funding from the Welsh Government was a game-changer. It helped me create the kind of student experience I’ve always wanted to offer.”
Thanks to this support, Craig has launched a business he truly believes in, one that empowers others to grow, learn, and succeed.
